MKH 8050 Super Cardioid Mic + Full Rycote Kit

Our latest mic bundle is fast becoming an object of desire.

The Sennheiser MKH8050 Supercardioid capsule. MZF8000 Filter module, and a Rycote Mono Extended Ball Gag and Windjammer, with a very special Connbox that eliminates the need to use the XLR adaptor for the MKH makes all of this possible, keeping down the weight and size of the whole package of kit.

This gives the Schoeps a challenger for a light, discreet, very clean sounding, and easy to use mic to use in demanding situations on location.

AUDIO Ltd Envoy En2 Diversity RX/TX kit

Audio recently brought out a single channel Diversity receiver in their Envoy En2 range.

We are bundling it with the PRO transmitter, a Tram TR50 and output cable.

The Envoy DX and TX are both powered by a single AA battery. With our bundle you have the option of externally powering the receiver.

This bundle is ideal to use as a single channel camera link as the transmitter can also be externally powered as it is fitted with a small multi-pin connector.

SOUND DEVICES PIX 240 HD Video Recorder

This little recorder has turned into a great tool, it adds Quicktime recording using Apple ProRes or Avid DNxHD to any HDMI, or HD-SDI equipped high-definition video cameras.

Apple ProRes and Avid DNxHD video formats have emerged as industry standards. These I-frame codecs offer the best in picture quality, processing efficiency, and data storage requirements. They are ideal for editing, on-the-fly color grading, and video processing. Files recorded in the field on a PIX recorder are ready for the most popular editorial workflows.

The PIX 240 supports Embedded Audio on HDMI (2-chan) and HD-SDI (8-chan), AED, and Analogue audio. It also has Timecode In & Out, Stereo Line Out, HDMI In & Out, HD-SDI In & Out. The Timecode generator/reader in the Pix 240 is by Ambient, it includes Genlock and as expected is of very high standard!

LATEST ADDITIONS - ROLAND R-26

We are very impressed with this little recorder, it has two pairs of mics on the top of the recorder, a pair of omnis and a pair of cardioids in an XY pattern. It also sports a pair of XLR/JACK inputs, and a 3.5mm input.

The input controls can be ganged, and the inputs can be configured to work in M/S!

You can record any combination of on-board mics/inputs, up to a total of SIX tracks of audio.

The device records onto widely available SD/SDHC memory cards.

Almost forgot, there is also quite a nifty binaural microphone/headphone kit to go with this recorder. Pop the little dearies into your ears, plug them into the recorder, and you are off, recording '3D' binaural audio location sound effects!

NEW PRODUCT - MICRON EXP-FKLCD

Micron have announced a new product in their Explorer 100 Series range, the Explorer LCD.

This like its brother the BSDR has a smaller transmitter (only 76mm tall) but both the TX and the RX sport LCD displays that allow you to set the frequencies, check audio and battery levels etc.

We don't have them in stock yet, but we are taking orders and will be able to give you an idea of a shipping date when you place an order.

Normally there is a bit of a wait for Micron gear as there is a massive demand for radio mic kit with the end of Ch. 69 looming. BUT, we have stock that is due to come in soon.

LATEST ADDITIONS - PETROL AUDIO BAGS

We have been selling the Petrol range of bags for sound mixers and recorders for years, but never got round to putting them on our website. As we are now shifting the NEW 'Black Deca' range of Petrol bags, and selling quite a lot of them, we thought we would add them to the website and increase our stock holding of bags and other bits so you don't have to wait so long for your new bags.

They do the usual, bags in different sizes, harness, and a nifty pouch system - that a lot of you seem to like - that will clip receivers onto Petrol Camera Gloves etc.

LATEST ADDITIONS - AMBIENT ACL 204 HD LOCKIT

We are currently taking pre-orders for the latest Lockit box from Ambient, the ACL 204. We have ordered a batch, and Ambient are expecting to start shipping them in the New Year.

The ACL 204 is a big step forward from previous Lockit boxes, the 204 has a menu setup system, a display so you can see the code/config and a built-in transceiver.

It also has two TC outputs, ideal for 3D rigs which utilise two cameras.

LATEST ADDITIONS - FOSTEX AR-4i

A little gadget to go with your iPhone 4!

This latest offering from Fostex gives you better quality mic inputs on your iPhone 4 thus allowing you to capture better quality audio... It also comes with a pair of little bendy microphones.

As you can see in the photo, it adds a (cold) hot shoe to your iphone, and it also has two threaded tripod mounts, one for horizontal mounting and the other for vertical mounting.

We can add Rycote Furries to your order, or even a Rycote Portable Recorder Suspension module to further reduce handling noise.

RYCOTE WINDSHIELD PACKAGING

To avoid a price increase for Rycote Windshield Kits we are now shipping windshields (in plastic bags) without the cardboard packaging, this helps us to reduce the size of the parcel we send you, and allows us to use a cheaper postal method.

THE NEW SENNHEISER MKH 8060

This mic sounds really natural, a leap forward in design from the warrior that is used by every man and his dog, the humble '416'. It has a new-design interference tube, with a much nicer off-axis sound than the 416.

Are you ready for digital audio? The MKH 8060 is! We can supply an AES42 module, the MZD 8000 that can be used instead of the supplied XLR module.

The MZD 8000 will interface directly with your Sound Devices 788 or Deva recorders and allow you to collect digital audio from source.

AES42 is a variant of AES audio that carries phantom power to your microphone from the mixer.

Once again, I digress! The 8060 is shorter than a 416, and can fit in the shorter Rycote Windjammer Kit 3. And guess what, we already sell this microphone, in a bundle, with a Rycote KIT 3! Howzat for service?!

WEBSITE UPDATE NEWS

Lots of updates to the website over the past few weeks.

I am pretty sure that the eagle eyed amongst you would have noticed the additions already, just in case you have missed some of them I hope you will allow me to point them out to you now.

Even though we have sold Audio Developments mixers for some time now, we didn't have them listed on the website. As you know the permutations of options and add-ons are pretty vast for some of the products, so as a guide we have put prices of the more popular requirements on the website. We have added some of the more popular choices of SKB Cases onto the website at last. Again, we can get anything to order, we would be glad to help you if what you want isn't listed on our website.

AMBIENT TIMECODE RADIO LINK SYSTEM

We are now keeping stock of these great little timecode widgets from Ambient.

Gone are the days of having seperate time code transmitters and receivers. These little boxes can be set to be either receiver units or transmitter units with one flick of a tiny switch inside the battery compartment.
