Audio Developments

This mixer from Audio Developments has been designed for a variety of applications. However, its small size (13.5x9.5x4.0cm) and low weight (400gm), lends itself to being mounted on a camera or attached to a belt. It has 3 inputs and two outputs with limiters on microphone inputs and the main outputs.

This is available in two configurations; a one microphone plus two line inputs or three microphone/line inputs. It is capable of being set and left to process the audio.

AD255 is the latest addition to the Audio Developments Ltd range of portable mixers, having comprehensive facilities set out in an ergonomically friendly design and all contained within a robust and rugged aluminium case with a relatively small footprint.

The features and specification are based on the well established AD245 Pico Mixer. Two auxiliary sends and channel direct outputs are the main additional features. As with the other models within the range, professional components are used throughout - including Penny and Giles 100mm long-stroke, conductive plastics faders.

Location sound professionals now require multi-track record facilities, the channel direct outputs provide the necessary features; without compromising the simplicity of operation and reliability of its counterpart the AD245.

AD256 is another addition to the Audio Developments Ltd range of portable mixers, having comprehensive facilities set out in an ergonomically friendly design and all contained within a robust and rugged aluminium case with a relatively small footprint.

The features and specification are based on the well established AD255 Mixer. Input channel limiter, continuously variable HPF and mute switch are the main additions. As with the other models within the range, professional components are used throughout - including Penny and Giles 100mm, long-stroke, conductive plastics faders.

Location sound professionals now require multi-track record facilities; the channel direct outputs provide the necessary features. By use of an additional switch these outputs can source other signals if the direct signal is not required, (Main Output and Auxiliaries). This without compromising the simplicity of operation and reliability as with its counterpart the AD255.

The AD 114 is now available with direct pre-fader outputs from each input, accessible via the 15 pin multiway connector.

The addition of AD144 to the range of Audio Developments mixers has not only provided wider customer choice with regard to location mixing, but also presents applications in small studios and OB vehicles.
Customized extruded metalwork developed for the AD140 series creates a robust chassis appreciated by audio professionals. With four outputs and four auxiliaries: M-S stereo facilities on inputs and outputs; transformer balancing throughout and comprehensive monitoring gives the AD 144 flexibility enabling uses in a wide range of applications. The ergonomically friendly design and construction uses professional components - including Penny & Giles 100mm long stroke, conductive-plastic faders.

AD144 is supplied with 12, 14, 16, 18 or 24 input modules. A separate meter bridge fitted with 4 VU or PPM meters can be supplied as an option to read outputs A,B,C and D. The mixer's meters can then be dedicated to auxiliary 1 & 2, auxiliary 3 & 4 and monitor 1/PFL outputs.

The AD146 is a versatile little mixer and is available in four frame sizes with 6, 8, 10, 18 or 24 inputs.

This option converts the standard line input XLR connector to a male output XLR connector giving an internally selectable pre or post fader direct output.

The AD161 has been designed to meet the needs of today's news gatherers. For speed and efficiency crews have been reduced to the bare essentials and so cameras, lighting and sound equipment need to be quick to set up, reliable to use and produce the first class quality sound and pictures viewers have come to expect.
The AD161 has all the facilities needed to fulfill this demanding role. It is small, light, extremely rugged, and has such a straightforward layout of controls that even a newcomer to audio will instinctively become familiar with all the functions in minutes.

This is the first Audio Developments mixer designed with an LCD meter in place of the traditional analogue type, creating the opportunity to fit a significant number of facilities into a much smaller space. The mixer, while having all the attributes of the AD161 ( its mono counterpart), is only 25 per cent greater by volume. The meter shows not only the output levels in PPM or VU format, but gives an indication of the battery condition and monitor status. (Whether listening to direct or return signals). Using internal DIL switches the meter can follow the monitor selector. This gives the operator the opportunity to show the return level. The mixer has been designed to introduce to the market a high quality, yet affordable, stereo ENG mixer with the durability to last.
