Compact, Linear Fader Controller with Enhanced Monitoring The CL-9 is probably the most long awaited product ever from Sound Devices. It will extend the 788T to become a complete mixer & recording system for features/drama or music location recording. We first saw the prototype for this last year, and judging by the questions we get asked almost on a daily basis by the best 'ears' in the trade, and the features that are packed into the CL-9, we know that there will be quite a demand for this new addition to the 788T family. You could be rigged for working off a trolley for most of the day, but when you need to de-camp and re-rig, for example, the moving car shots, unplugging just a small handfull of cables can have you up and running again with the same recorder in no time at all, in the back of a car, or off the shoulder without any compromise in quality, flexibility or recording facilities. Sound Devices 788T-SSD + CL-8 + CS-5 Bag + ATC Umbilical A dream bundle... the latest version of the 788T... the 256GB Solid State Drive 788T-SSD shipped with the CL-8 fader module, the plush CS-5 Production bag to carry the 788T-SSD with the CL-8 bolted on, and the custom made ATC (Audio + timecode) umbilical cable. The custom made ATC umbilical cable carries stereo audio to the camera on balanced XLRs, a 3.5mm stereo jack camera return to the 788T and a TC feed. The camera return will regrettably take up one or two inputs on the 788T, but these can be de-selected from the mix/multi-track (but you might have wanted to record your stereo mix to disk anyway).
