Ultrasone Ultrasone headphones feature S-Logic Natural Surround Sound, a unique patented system that actually utilises the design of the human ear to give a much more accurate stereo image, creating a sound similar to that experienced when listening without headphones. S-Logic achieves this by positioning the speakers in a decentralised position, which directs the sound onto the pinna - the outer, visible ear. In this way, S-Logic headphones mimic the way that we naturally receive sound waves, reflecting them into the ear canal. The result is that the eardrum receives sound - and the brain perceives it - in a natural way, creating a detailed stereo image that's transparent and realistic. This defined, accurate sound offers significant benefits to sound professionals. Imaging is superb and on the closed-back designs, isolation is outstanding: ambient sound is almost completely excluded making these headphones ideal for live sound, broadcast and location drama or documentary recording. But perhaps more importantly, Ultrasone headphones can be used at significantly lower sound pressures than conventional equipment. Volume levels can be reduced by 3 or 4dB - or 40 per cent - yet render the same perceived loudness and can be used for much longer periods without causing fatigue or risking damage to ears. An added benefit of the technology in Ultrasone headphones is that potentially harmful electro-magnetic emissions have been considerably reduced. On the Ultrasone PROline models, magnetic radiation is reduced by up to 98 per cent compared with other headphones, and even on standard Low Emission Ultraphone sets, radiation is up to 60 per cent lower.
